Ho Chi Minh City has a range of hospitals and the standards of healthcare in private hospitals are generally on par with those in Western countries. However, with cheap and relatively short flights from HCMC to Bangkok and Singapore readily available, many expats prefer to go there for more serious medical concerns.

Larger hospitals will have English-speaking staff and many have foreign doctors from countries such as France, Japan, South Korea and America
